Women Have Always Used Fabric to Call for Social Change
From Betsy Ross, who designed our national banner to the colored sashes worn by American suffragettes as they fought for the right to vote just like men, fabric has always been used by woman to call for a better, more equal world. Fabric is a universal medium, part of our everyday world. Likewise, the desire to see justice done and freedom made available to all is the enduring desire of ever repeating generations of women - all seeking to literally stitching together the fabric of our nation and its future.
